Diploma thesis in Nanjing, China

 

Many people asked me "Why China...?" and the answer was always the same: everything begins with a single thought and during my time in the United  States, I had the idea to take my diploma thesis in a foreign country as well. If you consider my search of new challenges combined with my desire to explore the world, there was nothing left but China.

 

This entreprise was far from being easy. In 2008 it was almost impossible to get a visa, my applications remained without any result. My optimism and my beliefs pushed me forward and after months of applying, all of a sudden, I got the offer to take my diploma thesis in Nanjing. Only four weeks later I arrived in China - in the midst of the Olympic Summer Games 2008!

 

So far, this was the best decision in my life: I had a great time, great colleagues and a very interesting and challenging project. The predevelopment and numeric fluid-dynamic optimization of a Deflection-filter for cooker-hoods was my job. At the moment, my former department applies for a new patent of this filter!
